This event was for non-team players (excluding ladies' 4th and men's 5th team players). Initial partners were drawn out and it was run as an American style tournament with a rolling handicap scoring system to encourage players of all abilities from our social tennis groups to join in. Individual scores were taken and the highest scoring lady and man at the end were declared the social champions and were awarded the trophies.
Congratulations to Laura Wright and Alp Baytan, the respective winners!
The weather was great and the home-made cakes were delicious - a fun afternoon all round!
Social tennis plays an important part at Bramhall Queensgate Tennis Club. There are many ways you can play and these events run throughout the year:
If you're new to tennis you can enjoy free coaching and organised play at Beginner's tennis on Thursdays 7-8 pm.
If you've not played tennis for years, then Rusty Rackets is for you - Tuesdays 7-8 pm with the coach - open to non members on trial basis.
These events are a great way to meet other members, enjoy a game of tennis and then retire to the clubhouse afterwards to enjoy a drink and socialise.
Thursday evenings 7-8 pm with the Coach. 4 free sessions for new members.
Play tennis every Saturday afternoon throughout the year 2-4 pm. Organised fun games of doubles - men's, ladies' and mixed for all standards of player.
