Huge thank you to Cheshire LTA for their MAD funding towards our new court draggers!
We are holding plenty of internal club matches throughout the Summer. There's something for every member and every level, including box leagues, a mixed doubles ladder, men's singles ladder and a kids box league.
It's a fantastic way to keep up with your match play and a great way to meet other members of the tennis club. Ask any committee member at the club to find out more.
The first Tuesday of the month can only mean one thing at Bramhall Queensgate Tennis Club. It's our regular friendly, American Social Tournament with a variety of popular themes to keep it interesting! Prizes, drinks and nibbles to follow. All welcome 7-9 pm
We've had some great winners with this theme so please do pop down and enjoy the evening of sociable tennis.
Just £3 will cover the flood lights, balls, a free drink at the bar with some nibbles and a prize for the winning scrabble word.
Are you new to tennis or just haven't played in a while and need to dust off your racket?
Well, you need look no further as Bramhall Queensgate Tennis Club will be hosting “Rusty Racket” coaching sessions every Tuesday from 7pm - 8pm. Our coaches Darren or Nickwill help you to build your confidence so that when you're ready, you can join the social tennis groups.
Each session is free to members and is open to non members at a cost of £6,so why not bring a friend, neighbour or colleague, enjoy a game of tennis and then a drink in the bar afterwards.
Kids tennis club night is on every Friday during the school term. There are plenty of fun tennis games so everyone can join in, have fun and improve their game.
The tuck shop is also open to grab a quick drink and a snack.
Why not bring a friend for a free first session to see if they like it?
Cardio Tennis is on every Friday from 6.30pm -7.30pm at Bramhall Queensgate Tennis Club.
It is a fun, social group tennis- fitness program suitable for all ages and abilities. It involves a higher calorie burn, endless activities and social workouts which will leave you feeling great and in shape. Open to all club members.
£6 per week pay as you go.
The tennis holiday camps run during the school holidays and the coaches at Queensgate Tennis Club make sure that camps are fun for all children attending.
The main emphasis is to ensure the holiday camps are in a safe, fun and friendly environment and the reputation of the camps speak for themselves, so it is important to book your place promptly to avoid disappointment.
Forthcoming camp dates are as follows:
21st October - 24th October
You can book to attend full days or just a morning or afternoon session.
Morning sessions 10.00am - 12.30pm
Afternoon sessions 1.30pm - 4pm
All day sessions 10.00am - 4 pm
Price: £14.00 per session, £20.00 per day. All coaches are LTA qualified and have clear enhanced DBS checks.
Those that attended the AGM of the Queensgate Sports Club (QSC) will know that it was agreed that the QSC should be working towards being financially self-sufficient so that any spare funds the Tennis, Bowls and Snooker sections have can be plowed back into, in our case, the sinking fund for replacement courts. To enable this, we need to increase the lettings income. Mike Sarginson has already volunteered to take on the initial enquires, actual bookings and maintenance of an online calendar (which is fabulous news!) until someone else comes forward as this is a job that needs doing immediately if we are to advertise the clubhouse to potential hirers! If anyone feels they could take this job on, please let us know by emailing or phoning the number below.
Rob Chambers and Mike Sarginson already look after the bar stock and Bob Pigeon will be dealing with the financial arrangements for the lettings.
We are also looking for several people to volunteer on a rota system to fulfil the following jobs:
1) volunteers to unlock the clubhouse and possibly set up the main hall with tables (if required) when events are taking place
2) volunteers to put any tables away the following morning that have been used at the event together with doing a check for damage.
3) volunteers to run the bar for evening events. This is a paid role and would suit anyone over the age of 18.
If you think you could be available to help by giving up some time, on a rota basis, please email Bob Pigeon - bobpigeon@btinternet.com -07843 573975
Don't forget you can also help by making your friends, family, colleagues aware of the venue, whether it's for a special birthday, children's party, works do, bridge drive, or classes of any kind. And ...if you hire it yourself, members get a very good discount @ £15 per hour! Non-members £25 per hour
To be eligible to enter the club draw you must have opted-in to the Wimbledon draw with the LTA by 14th February 2020, added Bramhall Queensgate as your tennis venue and be a fully paid up member of Bramhall Queensgate Tennis Club at the time of the draw.
Please contact Adam Mayers if you wish to be included in the draw. You can reach him on 07527 448882 or email adammayers@hydesbrewery.com.
